Our Process

We start with the end-user.
We get in front of the people that we're designing for, and we make sure our interfaces work for them.

We combine, ethnographic research, interviews and focus groups with sketches, wireframes and prototypes.

Quantitative and qualitative tools and data are carefully blended into our product design approach, so that our clients go to market with products that they know gets results, for real users, on real devices.


We kick off by outlining the scope of the project at a high level, we aim to answer the key questions;

  1. What are we building?
  2. Why are we building it?
  3. Who is it for?

This session allows us to establish the business and user needs, and align all the project stakeholders.


Once the project has been broadly scoped, the product and design teams move to the research phase.

Our design team aims to understand customer behaviour, attitudes, motivations and pain-points, which are are building blocks for any digital solution. We follow an analytical approach, building user personas and mapping their touch-points. This helps us to make confident design decisions.


After the research has been gathered and a clear understanding of the business and user goals are in place, the product and design teams regroup to establish business goals.

The aim is to balance business and user needs and to define a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), to ensure we get to market in a timely manner.

A roadmap is created, detailing the features we intend to build after the MVP has been launched…this roadmap and feature set is flexible and has the ability to evolve, based onMVP user feedback and data.


Now that the project goals have been defined, the team comes together again to start brainstorming, allowing experts to share insights and opinions on how we execute things.

The best ideas are shortlisted and we begin the synthesis process. This involves creating user journeys, task flows and creating lower fidelity products in the hands of the intended users to validate ideas.


The Creation phase involves taking low fidelity wireframes, task flows, prototypes and designing real estate and assets that aid the user and business needs.

During the design phase, engineers are consulted on the technical requirements and they begin outlining the technical architecture for the product.

Designers play out the core user flow for the product in the aim of putting the product in the hands of users as quickly as possible with usability testing. This involves recruitment of people that would normally use such a product and a series of questions and task are analyzed to ensure we’re on the right track.

Based on the feedback,we go back into the design phase and iterate things to better align with user needs.

After usability testing is complete and we are comfortable that the intended users can complete the necessary tasks and are being communicated in the correct way, we finalize design and hand over to engineers for development, quality control and testing before “go-live”.


Once the product has been taken to market, we monitor and assess performance to ensure users are getting the intended experience. We watch for high friction points and aim to reduce that friction to allow for a smoother, more intuitive experience using tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, Mixpanel, or whatever analytics tool best suits the product.


After reviewing the live data, we come together to discuss the findings and strategize ways to improve conversion and optimize user experience.
